Seed to Table - Berry Preservation and Organic Pest Control

Join the Coconino County Cooperative Extension from 5-7 pm on Tuesday, August 15th. This week's workshop will focus on berries and organic pest control. How to care for and choose the best varieties for our growing season and climate are important aspects of a thriving berry crop. They will be providing tips on growing berries for the gardening portion, as well as info on organic pest control to keep your plants healthy without chemicals. The food and nutrition portion of the workshop will focus on how to preserve a berry harvest with jams, and proper freezing and drying techniques. They will have samples of jams and other berry recipes to try during the workshop.
